In cooperation with the Pennsylvania Central Food Bank and the Harrisburg Veteran's Center, JFT is proud to host a weekly Military Share Program. Started in May of 2016, JFT maintains an active list of 30 veterans for whom we provide weekly an $80 box of groceries that includes fresh produce, milk, eggs, cheese, and meat.

 

There is a waiting list for this program; however, once a vet is on the roster to receive groceries, he/she is signed up indefinitely. Because there is such a need and a waiting list, the only reason a veteran could be removed from the program is if groceries are not picked up three consecutive weeks in a row. Unfortunately, at this time we do not have the funding, staff, or means to deliver or transport groceries to participants; therefore, the ability to pick up, designate another person to pick up, or to somehow make other arrangements each Wednesday is a requirement of the program.

If you are a veteran or know of a veteran in need of groceries or clothing, please do not hesitate to call us. We will put the veteran on the waiting list as well analyze resources available until the veteran can become a participating member of the program.
